Design And Build Quality:
Hero Lectro Townmaster is basically a hybrid electric bicycle, which means it is the fusion of a road bike and a mountain bike. The overall design is made at Hero’s Global Design Center in Manchester, but the bike is manufactured in India only and this is the reason why it calls India’s first British design and Indian manufactured electric bike.
The chassis of the bike is made of 6061 aluminum which is an aero grade aluminum and due to this material, the overall structure of the bike is quite sturdy and tough. Even this is not so heavy, the total weight of the bike is only 25kg.
Motor:
Townmaster comes with a 250w BLDC rear hub motor which able to generate a maximum of 25kmph speed, but if you use the pedal-assist, you can easily reach up to 30 – 35kmph speed.
Battery And Mileage:
The bike is powered by a 36v/5.8Ah Lithium-ion battery and which is a non-removable battery. The battery is beautifully placed in the lower frame of the bike and not visible to others. That’s why being an electric bike, it doesn’t look like an electric bike rather it looks like a normal bike.
The battery needs 3 to 4 hours to charge fully and on a single charge, it can go up to 30km.
Gears And Brakes:
Townmaster comes with a 7 speed Shimano Tourney gears and derailleur. While for the braking the company uses 160 rotor dual disc brakes of Promax, which is not only affordable but has quick response time as well.
Wheels And Suspension:
The bike has 27.5″ Kenda tires, which is specially designed for a hybrid bicycle. There are 700c double-wall alloy rims that also can be seen on the bike.
For the suspension, the bike uses a 100mm front fork suspension which comes with a lock feature.
Pedal Assist:
Townmaster has 3 levels of pedal assist mode and that can be controlled through an analog LED controller which is mounted on the handlebar. For a good pedal assist, there are some sensors installed in the crank, which helps to sens your pedaling speed and accordingly send the data to the motor and then the motor generates the exact amount of power which you need.

Additionally, the bike has a low beam headlamp and a full-throttle mode for an instant boost. Besides, the company is giving 2 years of warranty on frame, rims, suspension, and motor, while on battery, charger, seats, stem and some other components you will get only 1 year of manufacturer warranty.
