by Hero Cycles has recently launched a few ranges of electric bicycles, but the bike which grabbed everyone’s attention is Hero Lectro Glide TX26″. The bike is a successor of last year’s cheapest electric bike the Hero Lectro Glide SS. Though both the bikes look quite similar but it has some additional features which you need to know.
Design And Build Quality:
The design of the bike is very much identical to the Hero Lectro Glide SS. The step-through design makes the bike a unisex bike that is suitable for both men and women. The bike has 16″ frame which is made of 6061 aluminium alloy, and because of this alloy frame, the bike is quite lightweight around 19kgs including battery and all.
Motor And Speed:
Glide TX runs on a 250w BLDC rear hub motor which produces a maximum 25kmph of speed. But the good thing is it has good pulling power as compared to Glide SS because the motor is able to generate a maximum 40nm torque which is more powerful than a 32nm torque present in the Glide SS.
Battery And Range:
Hero Lectro Glide TX is powered by a 36v/5.8Ah nonremovable Lithium-ion battery. The battery gets charged in just 3 to 4 hours by a 2A charger. On a single charge, the bike can travel up to 40km on pedal assist mode. But on electric-only mode, you will get only 25 to 30km of range. But the good thing is you can ride this bike at just for ₹4 paisa/km.
For the pedal assist, this bike comes with 3 levels of pedal assist mode, and the same can be controlled by the LED display which is mounted on the handlebar of the bike.
Wheels And Brakes:
Like Glide SS, Glide TX is also a single speed geared bicycle, but unlike Glide SS, Glide TX comes with 26″ x 1.90″ wheels combined with anti-skid nylon tires, and as usual, this bike also comes with double-wall alloy rims.
Talking about the brakes, so the bike comes with 2 different types of the braking system which includes disc brake in the front and V brake at the rear wheel of the bike.
Unfortunately, there is no shock absorber present on the bike. So off-roading can not be as smooth as you expect. But the good thing is the bike is ip65 certified for waterproof.
